2006 Storm Chases

3-8-06 North Texas |
My first chase of 2006 was a short trip up north of Dallas near Denton, TX. Not expecting much, I was able to grab some nice lightning shots and give my near gear a test run. |

3-19-06 Big Lake, TX |
A quick chase to west Texas with a couple severe storms including a tornado warned storm near Big Lake. |

A fairly hyped setup that did not produce like I thought it would. The day started in Shamrock, TX and I witnessed some large hail in parts of southwestern Oklahoma as storms erupted and moved east. | |

4-28-06 Sweetwater, TX |
A frustrating day for me as I could not decide on a target and ended up basically making circles in west central Texas. Did manage to see some decent structure though. |

South Plains, TX |
A long day spent east of Lubbock that featured some interesting storms and a possible non-meso tornado. |

Southeast Oklahoma |
Another bust for me in the jungle of southeast Oklahoma. I was on the storm that produced the deadly Westminster, TX tornado at night, just didn't see it though. |

North central Nebraska |
During the slow month of May, this setup presented at least a decent shot at severe weather and I ended up seeing a few severe storms as well as a couple of gustnadoes. |

6-16-06 eastern TX panhandle |
Spent the day in the panhandle of Texas and watched some high-based storms that produced some high winds and a nice lightning show at night. |

Raced west towards Colorado after school but was late and all the storms had gone outflow dominant by the time I made it. Did witness some nice structure shots and an impressive shelf cloud though. | |

south central Nebraska |
This was a day before the bigger setup where I saw some nice storms and hail in south central Nebraska. |

southeast South Dakota |
Chased with Roger Hill and company on this day in South Dakota. We were just minutes late to the tornado show there but did witness a few severe warned storms. |

southeast Oklahoma |
Once again I tried to talk myself out of chasing the jungle but another September setup that I couldn't resist. No real storms of significance observed though. |

western Arkansas |
Couldn't chase Missouri or Illinois today because of school. I ended up traveling east on I-40 after school though to intercept a supercell near Fort Smith, AR that would end up dropping multiple tornadoes across the state later that night. |
